At PACK, we can take care of 170 dogs at most, each of which eats nearly 70-85 kilograms worth of dog food daily.
Annually we purchase up to 30,000 kilograms of dog food. In order to look after our dogs’ health, it is essential that the quality and quantity of their food is sufficient. Sick or elderly dogs require specially-prepared food to keep them healthy. You can imagine how expensive the monthly cost of food alone is, but this covers only their most basic life-sustaining expenses.
At PACK, it is common to see dogs scarfing down food; eating too much too quickly is a typical behavior of long-term stray dogs as they don’t know the next time they will see a meal.
The trauma of food insecurity remains long after they are brought to PACK.
